I joined New Birth Company in June of 2019, following a year-long fellowship in Des Moines, Iowa where I also grew up. I love working with the team here at NBC; I’m surrounded by great people, including our Midwifery Assistants, Nurses, Midwives, Front Desk Staff, and Administrators. We are all here in service of the women seeking care, and I am happy to work alongside a great group of dedicated people.

I have been a nurse for over ten years and have varied experiences, and my focus has always been on women and children. My central theme in caring for women and families is on creating true connections. I strive to develop deep and meaningful relationships with those I serve. In this, I believe I have the opportunity to really understand how to best care for each unique being I encounter. I believe in empowering women to create their own best experience. I follow the practice of shared decision making, and in educating clients how to educate themselves and make truly informed decisions. Most importantly, I believe in physiologic birth, and will spend my career supporting and promoting this safe and evidence-based practice.

My husband Chris is my greatest champion, and a steady and true companion. He also makes me laugh…hard. Our three children fill our lives with joy (and let’s be real, keep us on our toes); our son Avery is finishing his freshman year at Purdue University, our daughter Regan is completing her sophomore year at Shawnee Mission East, and our little Luca is rocking the three year old life, and pretty much running things! In my time off, I enjoy reading, walking, riding my bike, and hanging out with my super cool family.
