Kim Anderson

Kim is a Kansas City native with over 37 years of Maternal-child experience, she has attended to women in a variety of settings, including home birth, rural communities in Missouri and Alaska, Indian Health Service, and the metropolitan Kansas City community, and most recently the Birth Center of Northwest Arkansas.

Before starting her career as a certified nurse midwife in 1999, Kim  was a mother-baby/nursery  and labor and delivery nurse for seventeen years. Supporting women through labor and creating the birth space they desired is a calling for her, as is empowering women in their healthcare choices, especially with regard to normal physiological birth. A highlight of her career was a mission trip with Midwives for Haiti, where she traveled to train native women in outlying villages as Skilled Birth Attendants -providing the necessary midwifery skills to attend births and provide services in their own communities.

Kim holds a BSN from Central Missouri State University and a Masters in Nursing-Midwifery from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She and her husband live in Liberty, Missouri and have four grown children and two grandsons. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, attending auctions and cycling the Katy Trail with her husband.
